Everything you need to know before packing your bags for an amazing journey
Best Time to Visit
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are ideal. The weather is perfect for exploring Petra and hiking in Wadi Rum without the extreme summer heat.
What to Wear
Pack comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots for the rocky trails in Petra. Dress modestly to respect the local culture, and bring light layers for cool desert nights.
Currency & Cash
The local currency is the Jordanian Dinar (JOD). While credit cards are widely accepted in hotels and major restaurants, it is essential to carry cash for small shops, taxis, and local bedouin camps.
Get the Jordan Pass
We highly recommend buying the "Jordan Pass" online before arrival. It waives your entry visa fees and includes prepaid entry tickets to Petra and over 40 other historical sites, saving you money.
Stay Hydrated
The dry desert climate means you need to drink plenty of water. Always carry a reusable water bottle, wear high-SPF sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses during outdoor daytime tours.
Local Hospitality
Jordanians are famous for being incredibly welcoming. If a local offers you Arabic coffee or tea, accepting it is considered a polite appreciation of their hospitality and a great way to connect.
